Insurance Information
Hearing aids are generally not covered by health insurance companies, although some do. Many of these companies offer what appears to be a discounted benefit of 30-50% off; however, this is usually from an inflated Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). In many cases our normal price for hearing devices and related services is actually less than the insurance discounted pricing. Also, with these programs, you may be required to purchase hearing devices from a specific manufacturer, whose technology may not be best for your hearing loss and lifestyle. As always, we will help you understand your benefits and provide all available options so you can make an educated decision that is best for you.
Medicare does not cover hearing aids; however, diagnostic evaluations are
covered if they are ordered by a physician for the purpose of assisting the
physician in developing a treatment plan. Your physician must write a
prescription for the testing and it cannot be related to the fitting of hearing
devices.
