Can Tinnitus Be Caused by Hearing Loss?

In the interview above, Dr. David E. Anderson, Doctor of Audiology, discusses Tinnitus. Tinnitus is a medical condition where the affected individual hears ringing, buzzing or hissing in one or both ears. This condition can be a result from a number of things. The normal aging process is a cause, hearing loss can cause tinnitus, noise exposure such as loud concerts or shooting a gun, medications and elevations are all causes as well. There is no cure for Tinnitus however there are ways to treat this condition. Hearing aids such as open fit and behind the ear are great solutions for a person with tinnitus.
